1. I need an earlier appointment and there are no available dates. What should I do?

4. How do I add or change members for a scheduled group appointment?
To modify a group's members after scheduling:
Cancel the entire group appointment.
Add or adjust the group members.
Reschedule the appointment for the group.
Important: Appointment availability is not guaranteed. You may not be able to book the same date and time again.
5. Who can accompany me to the visa interview?
Generally, only applicants with a scheduled appointment may enter the Consular Section.
Exceptions include:
Parents or legal guardians accompanying minor children.
Approved translators or caregivers (depending on consulate rules).
For specific guidance, refer to your Consular Section's website.
6. Are all visa applicants required to appear in person for an interview?
Not always. Some applicants may qualify for an interview waiver, including those:
Renewing a previous U.S. visa, or
Meeting specific age or category requirements.
Eligibility is determined automatically by your answers during the appointment scheduling process.
However, Consular Officers may require an interview for any applicant, even if they appear eligible for a waiver.
7. Can I edit my information after scheduling an appointment if I made a mistake?
If you already scheduled an appointment, you must cancel the appointment before editing your profile information.
If you have not yet scheduled an appointment, sign in, click the gear icon next to the applicant's name, and select “Edit.”
